Unruly Records is the founding label of Baltimore Club Music, founded by Shawn Caesar & Scottie B. When the two DJs met, they were working at a record store in Baltimore. Shawn had a House night at Club Fantasies, and Scottie had a Hip Hop night at Godfrey's.
Early in the 90s they started Unruly Records, which included subsidiary labels like Hard Headz. Since '94, Baltimore Club's most prominent names have released records under Unruly: DJ Class, Say Wut, King Tutt, Rod Lee, KW Griff, Booman, Jim Jones, Excel, Blaqstarr, K-Swift, Quicksilva, and several others-- the list goes on.
Following the success of Unruly's DJs and producers, and the proliferation of the B-more Sound into club music internationally, Unruly Records expanded to include the four business entities which comprise Unruly Productions: Unruly Marketing & Communications, U Management, Direct Drive Record Pool, and (of course) Unruly Records!!!
